I Am While I Am Not: Writer's Workshop

I am so totally sure of their potential...
while I am not always confident in who I am in this world.

I am confident of their beauty, both without and within...
while I am not going anywhere near my own bathroom mirror.

I am praying that they would find their way and know their role...
while I am not so sure that I am ever noticed in mine.

I am able to tell them what life will throw at them as they grow...
while I am not able to trust the unknowns of tomorrow.

I am able to tell them how to go about fixing what they need to change...
while I am not even sure how to help myself most days.

I am so very happy that God chose me to be their mother...
while I am not so sure He chose the right woman for the job.

I am vulnerable, scared, stubborn, worried, and I wrestle with my pride...
All while knowing I am not ever going to quit pushing them to be
all that I know they can be.

I am their mother...
and I love them more than words can say.

For today's blog, I was responding to a prompt over at Mama Kat's Place. Head on over for more info on what this is all about. :)

Looking up as always...

Those words made me tear up. I think every mom can relate to that.
Thanks for you words today!

Awesome! I'm glad I inspired you because that was lovely.

I tried to comment on your blog earlier this week but I couldn't for some reason. I'm glad I'm finally pushing the right buttons.

Bina, you could still post a poem before tomorrow to be included in HighCallingBlogs Random Acts of Poetry.

The best thing to do is to drop your post URL in my comment box so I don't miss it. I will link to you, even if belatedly. Also, if you have linked to me as the writing project "source", I will see it in my Google Alerts.

Either way, I'll link. Don't be shy; I want to link to you! :)

And, yes, they can be your words. (Unless you want to borrow Linda's. That could be fun. :)

I love the contrast of emotions you've put forth and so many women can relate to those very same feelings.

I always appreciate my mother more when I write and read about motherhood. God Bless!

Adventure Mom...thank you so much for your kind words. I have learned to appreciate my own mom as I raise my kids...such a blessing!

Isn't it amazing how much confidence we can have in our kids and yet still be so unconfident personally. :) Great post.
