She got into the car after school with a defeated look and a quiver-filled voice as she recounted the details of the playground ball hitting her smack in the face.
Her sister brushed off the artwork created especially for her.
And then...
Her brother ate her last sour Skittle...and it was her favorite color.
Her sister brushed off the artwork created especially for her.
Her homework fell in the puddle by the car as she climbed out.
As I watched this salty tear wind its way down her cheek, I recommended the perfect fix for any rotten day:
a hot bubble bath
Warm water...but not too hot for her tender skin.
Extra bubbles...enough to hide her long, tanned legs.
Basket of toys...dear friends to chatter with and play the time away.
Two washcloths instead of one...because somehow, they make the bath better.
Towel and PJ's in place for her when finished, I walked out of the bathroom.
I was hardly thru the doorway when her sweet voice rang out loud and clear:
"Moo-oom!!
You might want to close the door!
You don't want everyone to see my tidbits, do ya?!?"
TIDBITS???
Ya...
what you are thinking...
that is what she meant.
what you are thinking...
that is what she meant.
*sigh*
Looking up as always...

Bina, you are great! What a sweet mom for a young girl who had such a hard day. New words from each generation, right? That made me grin.
